Fabi\u00e1n Panisello (Argentina\/Spain) combines his roles as composer, conductor, and educator at the highest level.<\/p>\n

He is widely admired for his authoritative interpretations of 20th- and 21st-century music. As founder and artistic director of PluralEnsemble, he has premiered numerous works by leading contemporary composers. He has performed at major festivals, including Donaueschingen, Venice Biennale, Warsaw Autumn, Wien Modern, Pr\u00e9sences, and Ars Musica. His growing conducting engagements in 2024\/2025 include leading the ICP (Israel), Cantus Ensemble (Croatia), and debuting with the Tonk\u00fcnstler Orchestra, Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica de Galicia, Basque National Orchestra, and Savaria Symphony Orchestra (Hungary).<\/p>\n

Professor of Composition at the Escuela Superior de M\u00fasica Reina Sof\u00eda, he also teaches as a guest at prestigious institutions such as the Royal Academy of Music, E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Foundation, Jerusalem Academy, and China Conservatory.<\/p>\n

Trained in composition at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and in conducting with Peter E\u00f6tv\u00f6s, his music\u2014\u2018full of ideas, intense and bursting with energy\u2019 (Stockhausen)\u2014is performed by ensembles such as the Arditti Quartet and Ensemble Modern, and orchestras including the Spanish National Orchestra\/OCNE, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, SWR Baden-Baden Freiburg Symphony Orchestra, RTVE Orchestra, and Tonk\u00fcnstler Orchestra. In recent years, he has premiered his operas Le Malentendu<\/em> and Les Rois Mages<\/em> in cities such as Vienna, Nice, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Tel Aviv, and Madrid, and Die Judith von Shimoda<\/em>, commissioned by the Bregenz Festival, which was nominated for Best Premiere of 2024 by the \u00d6sterreichischer Musiktheaterpreis.<\/p>\n

This season, he has premiered his Horn Concerto<\/em> (Radovan Vlatkovi\u0107, Erik Nielsen, RTVE), Seven Japanese Sketches<\/em> (Ra\u00fal Ortega, Amaryllis Quartett), L\u2019\u00e2ge de la raison<\/em> (Paolo Corrado, Syntax, Milano), and Written in Blue<\/em> (Mario Blanco, Zsolt Nagy, Sinfonietta ESMRS). Fabi\u00e1n Panisello is the composer-in-residence at the Grafenegg Festival 2025.<\/p>\n
